Dan Guo, earned a Ph.D. degree (2010.06) from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. She then joined Hefei University of Technology in July 2010, initially as a postdoctoral researcher in data mining and she is currently a professor and PhD supervisor in the Laboratory of Media Computing. Her current main research include: computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, and pattern recognition. She has led various projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China - General Program (Principal Investigator), National Key Research and Development Program of China (Sub-Project Principal Investigator), National Natural Science Foundation of China - Key Program (Sub-Project Principal Investigator), Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province - General Program (Principal Investigator), Postdoctoral Foundation of Hefei University of Technology - General Program (Principal Investigator), etc. She also participated in National Key Research and Development Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China - Key Program, and National Natural Science Foundation of China - Joint Program.

The 1st MAC Challenge was successfully held at ACM MM 2024, attracting more than 40 teams worldwide.
The goal of MAC (Micro-Action Analysis Challenge) is to advance human behavior understanding through full-body micro-actions, promoting the development of deep psychological assessment and human emotional state analysis technologies. The 2nd SVC (Subtle Visual Computing) Challenge was successfully held at CVPR 2026, attracting over 140 teams globally.
SVC aims to bring together researchers worldwide to address key challenges in subtle visual signal detection and analysis, including difficulties in representation learning and insufficient generalization ability across tasks and modalities.
