My current research interest includes biosedimentology; carbonate geology (petrology with conventional, cathodoluminescence, fluorescence microscopes, & SEM, diagenesis and geochemistry, petroleum potential); Early Paleozoic and Early Mesozoic life evolution and development of carbonate reefs/mounds; Ordovician radiation; fossil calcareous algae, and calcimicrobes; Porifera taxonomy and taphonomy; organomineralization and biomineralization; petroleum geology.
