Dr. Ming Li — Academic Biography

Dr. Ming Li is an Associate Professor and doctoral supervisor at Hefei University of Technology (HFUT), where he also holds the designation of Huangshan Scholar. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a former Postdoctoral Fellow at Tsinghua University. Recognized among the Stanford Top 2% of the World's Most-Cited Scientists (2025), he has also been selected for the 2024–2026 Young Talent Support Program of the China Power Supply Society (CPSS).

Dr. Li's research centers on the modeling, analysis, and control of grid-connected renewable energy systems, with particular focus on:

  1. AI-driven modeling and control for grid-connected converters

  2. Hybrid grid-forming and grid-following control for large-scale renewable energy stations

  3. Stability analysis and control for renewable energy integration and next-generation power systems

  4. Distributed cooperative stabilization control for multi-inverter power plants

  5. Modeling and simulation of large-scale renewable generation systems

  6. Impedance-adaptive dual-mode control (grid-following / grid-forming) for high-penetration renewable systems

Research Group

Dr. Li is a member of the Institute of Power Electronics and Systems at HFUT, led by Professor Xing Zhang. The group has long been affiliated with the National Key Discipline of Power Electronics and Power Drives, the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Renewable Energy Grid-Connection Technology, and the Ministry of Education's Photovoltaic System Engineering Research Center.
