Yanrong Guo is from Hefei, Anhui Province. In June 2013, she obtained her Ph.D. from Hefei University of Technology. From August 2013 to September 2016, she conducted postdoctoral research in the Image Display, Enhancement, and Analysis Laboratory (IDEALAB) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, under the supervision of Professor Dinggang Shen (founding dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering at ShanghaiTech University and Fellow of IEEE/IAPR/MICCAI). Since November 2016, she has been engaged in teaching and research at the School of Computer and Information, Hefei University of Technology.
She undertakes teaching the foundational course "Signals and Systems" for the major of Electronic Information Engineering. In recent years, she has guided undergraduates to complete several provincial and university-level innovation projects, supervised an undergraduate to publish a paper as the first author, and mentored undergraduates to win second and third prizes in the national competition of the Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition, as well as multiple first prizes in the provincial competition.
Her main research directions are 1) Mental state analysis and auxiliary diagnostic models under the collaboration of multi-source heterogeneous data; 2) Depth image prediction and semantic segmentation based on convolutional neural networks; 3) Spatio-temporal hypergraph learning: researching the spatio-temporal unified representation and learning models of complex images under multi-source backgrounds, applied in the analysis of early brain development in infants and toddlers. She has published over thirty papers in journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEETransactions on Medical Imaging, Medical Image Analysis and MICCAI et. al. She currently presides over one National Natural Science Foundation of China general program and participates in two national key research and development programs (both as the person in charge of sub-projects). She has concluded one National Natural Science Foundation of China youth project, and one youth project of the Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province, and has supervised six master's students and co-supervised three Ph.D. students.
