Yongxin Gao, Professor at the School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering, Hubing Scholar of Hefei University of Technology. His research focuses on elastodynamics and electromagnetism, with primary work on elastic wave propagation theory, numerical simulation methods, and the mechano-electric coupling mechanisms of seismic electromagnetic fields. He has published over 50 SCI papers in top-ranked journals such as  Geophysical Research Letters, Geophysical Journal International, and Journal of Geophysical Research. He has led multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and industry-sponsored programs.

Prof. Gao has received several prestigious awards, including the Fu Chengyi Youth Science and Technology Award and the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Chinese Geophysical Society, the 9th Liu Guangding Youth Science and Technology Award in Geophysics, the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Anhui Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, the Outstanding Young Graduate Supervisor Award of Anhui Province, and recognition as a Reserve Candidate for Academic and Technical Leadership in Anhui Province. He also won the 2010 Best Student Paper Award from Geophysical Journal International, the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from Harbin Institute of Technology, and the Anhui Province Outstanding Academic Paper Award in Natural Sciences.

He holds several academic service roles, including Standing Committee Member of the Geoelectromagnetism Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society, Member of the Seismic Electromagnetism Committee of the Seismological Society of China, Vice Chair of the Multi-Sphere Coupling in Seismology Committee of the Seismological Society of China, Standing Council Member of the Anhui Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Vice Chair of the Society’s Science Popularization Committee, and Council Member of the Deep Earth Exploration Branch of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering. Additionally, he serves as a Youth Editorial Board Member for Advances in Earth Science (2022–2025) and as an Editorial Board Member for Earthquake Research Advances (2025-).
