现阶段主要从事功率半导体器件封装集成与可靠性、电工材料与绝缘技术、雷电与强电磁脉冲功率技术、高功率脉冲激光技术及应用、在线监测与故障诊断等研究，先后主持国家自然科学基金、教育部重点科技项目、合肥综合性国家科学中心重大项目、国家电网公司总部科技项目等纵横向科研项目20余项。在IEEE Trans.系列、中国电机工程学报以及IEEE系列国际会议等发表论文130余篇，授权发明专利10余件；获省部级科技进步一等奖1项、二等奖2项、三等奖1项；2003年入选教育部优秀青年教师资助计划，2006年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才，2009年获中国青年科技奖，2015年入选国家百千万人才工程、授予“有突出贡献中青年专家”荣誉称号，2016年获国务院政府特殊津贴。
