    Dr. Zhao is a 12+ yrs veteran in Power Electronics and career covers domestic/international industry and academia. The experience enables him to have in-depth insights into the current development of the industry and understands industry needs. 

    His research interests include wide bandgap power semiconductor devices, emerging gate driving technology, high-frequency converter, electric vehicles charging technology and renewable energy generation. 

    During the last 5 years, he has published 10 IEEE Trans articles as the first author/corresponding author. He has published more than 40 peer reviewed papers, 2 U.S. patents, and more than 10 pending China patents. He has collaboration with multiple industry partners such as Nio Motor, Kostal, State Grid etc. 

    He is an IEEE Member, IEEE PELS TC2 committee member, China Electrotechnical Society (CES) Senior Member, and CPSS Member. He is serving as the Guest Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics, Guest Editor of IET Power Electronics and Frontiers in Energy Research. He is a reviewer of TPEL, TTE, JESTPE, OJ-PEL, TIA. 

    Dr. Zhao's team is seeking highly self-motivated students who have strong interest in developing the next-generation power conversion system.
